The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) College of Business and Technology invites applications for the Lecturer of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Specialization) position starting in Fall 2027. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. About the Role

This position is responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester and participating in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership. The successful applicant will serve as the inaugural cybersecurity instructor at UNT Dallas and provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses. The position is scheduled to start Fall 2027 with the possibility of a Spring 2027 start.

Responsibilities

• Teach four (4) courses per semester in undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology, including but not limited to:
  • Foundations of Cybersecurity
  • Network Administration
  • Cloud Security
  • Computer Forensics
  • Computer Networks
  • Programming
• Participate in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership.
• Contribute to the growth of the UNT-Dallas Information Technology program.
• Support the university’s Classroom to Career initiative through experiential learning and industry collaboration.

Requirements

• An earned master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science.
• Experience using technology in teaching and experience teaching in multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face-to-face).
• Evidence of significant academic research and/or applied experience in Cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience in developing both face-to-face and online courses.
• Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
• Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.

Skills

• Effective writing and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in using technology for teaching.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on campus with flexible work arrangements available and the possibility of occasional remote work.
