About the role

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Program in the Department of Human Development and Consumer Sciences at the University of Houston invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track, full-time Lecturer position to begin on September 1, 2025. We seek a collaborative, student-centered educator who can contribute to teaching excellence, curriculum development, student success, and program advancement in undergraduate HRD courses. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty committed to preparing students for impactful careers in talent development, organizational learning, and HRD leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching excellence in undergraduate HRD courses
  • Develop and implement innovative curricula and instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student success and program advancement
  • Participate in departmental and university committees as needed

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in HRD, Organizational Learning and Development, or a closely related field
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the college/university level
  • Doctorate in HRD, Organizational Learning and Development, or a closely related field preferred
  • Professional experience in talent development, organizational learning & development, and organizational change
  • Experience with online teaching and instructional technology
  • Evidence of curriculum development or instructional design

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in HRD, Organizational Learning and Development, or a closely related field
  • Doctorate in HRD, Organizational Learning and Development, or a closely related field preferred

Skills

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective instruction
  • Experience with online teaching and instructional technology
  • Strong curriculum development and instructional design skills

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The position is a 9-month, non-tenure track, full-time position.
