The Human Development and Consumer Sciences Department in the College of Engineering at the University of Houston offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate-level courses and occasionally has openings for part-time Lecturers.
About the role
Lecturer appointments are made on a semester basis. The following programs in the Human Development and Consumer Sciences have openings for Lecturer positions: Human Resource Development, Retailing and Consumer Science, Foresight.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses as scheduled.
- Participate in departmental meetings and other professional activities as required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of curricula and course materials.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments in the field through reading, attending conferences, and professional contacts.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in a closely related field, preferably with relevant industrial experience.
- Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
