Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in the HCI and Informatics undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Develop courses for the traditional classroom setting, computer labs and for online education
  • Help set program and specialization goals
  • Develop and continually update the curriculum and training activities
  • Contribute to the recruitment and marketing of the program
  • Interview, evaluate, and advise students
  • Engage in scholarly activity
  • Serve on SoIC, departmental, and programs committees
  • Maintain current knowledge and skillset in the HCI profession through active participation in professional organizations, collaboration, practice, and research
  • Serve on professional committees

Requirements

  • PhD in Human-Computer Interaction or related field
  • Experience teaching in higher education
  • Strong commitment to teaching and student success
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Qualifications

  • Research experience in Human-Computer Interaction
  • Experience with educational technology and online learning
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research and collaboration

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
