About the role

The Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity is seeking a Lecturer in the area of cybersecurity, data analytics, digital forensics, network security, and telecommunications and networking. Lecturers are expected to ensure key learning objectives identified by the department chair and course coordinator are met through classroom instruction and instructional materials. Instructors may personalize their course’s curriculum to capitalize on their subject matter expertise. Critical thinking and experiential learning should feature prominently in each course.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Digital Forensics, or a related field.
• Five years of teaching and/or work experience in one or more of the areas of specialization including cybersecurity, data analytics, digital forensics, network security, and telecommunications and networking.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in information systems, information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, analytics or a related field preferred.
• Terminal degree for graduate course instruction due to accreditation requirements.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to design and deliver engaging lectures and tutorials.
• Experience with educational technology tools and platforms.

Benefits

Salary Range: $5,000 per course, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
