About the Role
Study of communication principles and rhetorical strategies employed to effectively communicate with intended audiences in the context of the biotechnology industry. Students will apply this knowledge to plan, prepare, construct, and evaluate communication situations in which they participate as both producers and consumers of communication in careers related to biotechnology.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Biological Sciences or related fields
- Working in the State of California is a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related fields
- Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service
Pay
Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full-time month. The salary schedule for the Lecturer – Academic Year classification (effective 7/1/24) is:
- Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full-time month
- Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
