About the role
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track, Lecturer position. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and, as appropriate, graduate courses in biomedical engineering based on departmental instructional needs.
Responsibilities
- Teach foundational biomedical engineering courses, laboratory courses, engineering design, and courses within the department’s specialized curricular areas in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
- Develop course materials and assess student learning.
- Support laboratory or design-based instruction.
- Mentor students and participate in departmental service activities.
Requirements
- Earned Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering or scientific field.
- Demonstrated academic preparation and subject-matter expertise necessary to teach courses assigned by the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
- Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred.
- Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
