The Department of Technology & Operations Management (TOM) at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in TOM for part-time teaching appointments.

Department of Technology & Operations Management

The Technology and Operations Management Department (TOM) offers rigorous and rewarding education in supply chain management and e-Business related areas. We host two options in Business Major with one in Supply Chain and Operations Management and the other in E-Business, two of the hottest areas in today’s business world.

College of Business Administration

Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide.

The Position

The Temporary Faculty Pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall Term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring Term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the summer sessions may also be available.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
  • Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in business administration/Statistics/Analytics or related discipline in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
  • A Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management/Business Analytics or related discipline.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
  • Industry experience in Business Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Salary and Benefit Information

  • Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
  • Initial appointments are for one semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
  • Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
