About the role
The Department of Environmental Design at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Sustainable and Regenerative Studies for part-time teaching appointments.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
- Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Sustainability, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Regenerative Studies, Environmental Studies, or related discipline in a field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- Professional practice, research, scholarship, and/or creative activities related to sustainability, regenerative practices and related fields.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Sustainability, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Regenerative Studies, Environmental Studies, or related discipline in a field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
- Expertise in applied quantitative research, qualitative research, and/or effective integration of both with a relationship to sustainability and regenerative practices.
Skills
- Substantive knowledge about the connections between various disciplines (i.e., ecology, planning and policy management, land design and landscape architecture, sociology).
Benefits
- Salary and benefit information are determined by the hiring department and are based on professional experience and educational background.
- Initial appointments are for one semester only.
- Full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
- Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.

Pay
- Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
- Initial appointments are for one semester only.

- Qualifications Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
- Lecturer A: $5,507 - $ 6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
Schedule
- The Fall Term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring Term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May.
- Opportunities for teaching during the summer sessions may also be available.
