About the role
We aim to appoint two Lecturers (UK equivalent of USA Assistant Professors) to enhance and complement our activities in observational astrophysics. Lancaster University seeks candidates with an outstanding research profile.
Responsibilities
- Conduct internationally-leading original research in either gravitational wave / multi-messenger astronomy or the exploitation of major facilities such as JWST.
- Demonstrate potential for excellent teaching ability, including the potential to supervise graduate students.
- Absorb and contribute to the intellectual life of the Department and the University.
- Attract external grant income to support your research from a range of sources.
Requirements
You must have a strong track record of conducting internationally-leading original research, and demonstrate potential for excellent teaching ability, including the potential to supervise graduate students.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will have a PhD in a relevant field and a proven track record of research excellence.
Skills
Ability to attract external grant income to support your research from a range of sources.
