JOB SUMMARY
Lincoln University invites applications for a full-time, 1-year Lecturer position in Chemistry. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. by the hire date.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaching duties include lower and upper level chemistry courses, including general education courses and courses for majors with labs, and other upper level courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.
- The ability to teach lecture and laboratory courses for chemistry/biochemistry majors, health professionals, and other non-science majors.
EDUCATION
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline (completed by the time of hire).
EXPERIENCE
- Evidence of experience in modern research and instrumentation used in Chemistry.
- Evidence of experience teaching courses in chemistry and associated lab courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to teach Chemistry, a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects;
- dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse;
- ability to hear and speak clearly;
- body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and protection from weather conditions.
