About the role
Surveys work by American Indian women writers from the early 19th century to the present. Takes a historical and topic-based approach to analyzing poetry, plays, short stories, memoirs, essays, and prose nonfiction by American Indian women. Covers land and sovereignty, colonization and decolonization, U.S. governmental policy and cultural genocide, civil rights and activism, missing and murdered Indigenous women, stereotypes and appropriation, and identity.
Requirements
- A master’s degree or equivalent in American Indian Studies or related discipline
Qualifications
- Higher Education teaching experience preferred
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service
Pay
Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full-time month. The salary schedule for the Lecturer – Academic Year classification is:
- Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full-time month
- Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
