About the role
This role involves managing full cycle leave of absence cases for the United States and Canada, with an average case load of 150+. The specialist works closely with managers and employees to facilitate the leave process, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the leave of absence process company-wide
- Perform individualized leave assessments and resolve issues
- Monitor work queues and prioritize cases as needed
- Manage extensive phone, email, and case management communications with employees and managers
- Process and approve leave transactions in Workday
- Maintain information/documentation in case management system to track and ensure accurate and timely case management
- Provide counseling and coaching for managers and employees around taking leave, types of leave and eligibility, as well as modifying leaves to ensure a smooth transition and leave process
- Identify areas for continuous improvement within internal operations, processes, etc.
- Maintain deep expertise and specialized knowledge of legal and statutory policies around leaves of absences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field
- Three (3) years or more HR generalist or HR compliance role (e.g. leave of absence, ADA, Employee Relations) required
- Three (3) years or more Demonstrated experience facilitating leave of absence processes including coaching/consulting others required
- Three (3) years or more Experience in interpreting and ensuring human resources regulatory compliance required
- One (1) year or more Experience in high volume, complex case management required
- Strong knowledge of federal and state absence laws and regulations advanced required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday and/or Service Now is a plus intermediate required
- Experience working in case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.) intermediate required
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification
