About the role

This role manages full cycle leave of absence cases for the United States and Canada, handling cases from intake to approval and providing support to managers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the leave of absence process company-wide
  • Perform individualized leave assessments, resolve issues, and escalate cases as needed
  • Monitor work queues, prioritize cases, and manage extensive communications with employees and managers
  • Process and approve leave transactions in Workday accurately and quickly
  • Maintain information/documentation in case management system to track and ensure accurate and timely case management
  • Provide counseling and coaching for managers and employees around leave-taking, types of leave, and eligibility
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement within internal operations and processes
  • Maintain deep expertise and specialized knowledge of legal and statutory policies around leaves of absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in other activities, projects, and growth initiatives within the Compliance or Employee Services area

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state absence laws and regulations
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Confidentiality and sensitivity to handling personal information
  • Timely and organized work habits
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state absence laws and regulations
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Workday and/or Service Now
  • Intermediate experience with case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Three (3) years or more HR generalist or HR compliance role experience
  • Three (3) years or more experience facilitating leave of absence processes including coaching/consulting others
  • Three (3) years or more experience in interpreting and ensuring human resources regulatory compliance
  • One (1) year or more experience in high volume, complex case management

Qualifications

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification
