About the role
The Leave Specialist is a member of the Human Resources department, reporting directly to the Leave Administrator II. This role supports business units across multiple states by administering leave cases, coordinating leave of absence requests, and assisting with ADA accommodation requests.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate leave of absence programs and ADA accommodation requests
- Manage the day-to-day administration of employee leaves, including FMLA, ADA, parental, medical, military, and personal leaves
- Ensure timely, compliant, and accurate handling of all leave requests in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies
- Work with leave of absence vendor to identify issues and errors within leave process and/or on specific leave claims
- Track leave timelines and documentation, including certifications, recertifications, and return to-work coordination; update employee leave status in UKG
- Partner with HR field team, WorkComp, Benefits, and other stakeholders on leave and accommodation cases
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and provide exceptional service throughout the leave journey
- Respond to accommodation inquiries; coordinate requests for reasonable modifications; educate and interact with all staff on ADA requirements and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred
- 2+ years of HR or leave administration related experience
- Federal, state, and local employment laws knowledge
- UKG software experience, preferred
