About the role

The primary functions of the PacLease Service Manager are to control the quality of repairs completed in the PacLease Service Department and to monitor efficiency and productivity of technicians on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Opening work orders, searching Service Information Record (and Pac Lease Warranty Matrix) for open warranty campaigns, technical information bulletins, or manufacturer recalls.
  • Completing fields for estimated repair time, mileage, and Managed Maintenance (MM) codes upon opening of repair order.
  • Notifying technician of assigned job duties, warranty availability, and customer initial request for service.
  • Personally performing quality control checks of workmanship on each service project.
  • Post PM performance, randomly screening PM’s to ensure work was completed and quality standard is high.
  • Coordinating communication between Service Technician and Customer regarding recommended services, changes in repairs, costs, and time-of-completion and necessary recalls/campaigns that may change customer scheduling or facilitate a substitute unit being issued.
  • Monitoring efficiency on each Technician, helping improve their skill level and work performance through better supervision, work assignment, and training.
  • Upon completion of repairs, ensuring that warranty parts have been tagged, Service Technician story is completed, and that story is complete. Service Technician narratives will include the customer complaint, cause, and correction needed to perform repairs.
  • Assuring that all customer damage and re-billable items are photographed and attached to Repair Order. Splitting bill to correct customer accounts and verifying accuracy of Service Technician narrative and repair performed.
  • Ensuring that all warrantable repairs are recovered in a timely fashion, with all warranty tickets submitted within 72 hours of repair completion.
  • Attaching all necessary documentation to Repair Order upon completion of work, including Service Sheets, PDI Forms, Damage Photographs, DOT Infractions, and DPF Cleaning Sheets.
  • Closing open tickets as repairs are completed, ensuring time punches are correct and adjusting times as needed. Importing Service Technicians' stories and editing as needed for professional appearance before closing.
  • Consulting with technician and Service Manager if time variance is longer than 30 to 45 minutes on punches to find cause and correct timeline to repair.
  • Maintaining and managing company-supplied mobile service truck.
  • Working alongside other technicians completing unit repairs and maintenance, as well as training and hiring new technicians to fill roles needed within that department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and managerial skills.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Two years of experience working in a diesel repair shop.
  • Working knowledge of heavy truck repair methods.
  • One-year supervisory experience.
  • Professional personal appearance.

Working Conditions

This position involves both sedentary and physically demanding work. For part of the shift, the role requires working at a desk in an office setting doing paperwork, filing, and key entry on a computer video monitor. For part of the shift, the role involves climbing stairs, climbing in and out of vehicles, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Exposure to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous materials is expected. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.

Pay

$85,000 - $95,000 DOE.
