About the role

Offering the epitome of island lifestyle in the PNW, Shorewood Apartments hosts 645 units on Mercer Island. Located on over 40 acres of lush landscaping with views of Lake Washington, this garden-style community features updated amenities and a neighborhood feel. This position coordinates the community’s marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy, revenue, and resident retention goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all sales and leasing activities to achieve revenue and occupancy goals, including greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting community tours, processing applications, credit screening, criminal background checks, preparing leases, and ensuring smooth move-ins.
  • Inspect apartments prior to resident move-in to ensure they are move-in ready and schedule any outstanding maintenance items.
  • Stay informed about current market and competitor conditions; develop and implement short- and long-term marketing plans to sustain occupancy.
  • Design and execute marketing activities to drive traffic, including resident referral programs, employer outreach, and internet marketing (Craigslist, Facebook, email, etc.).
  • Use on-site property management software (OneSite, Yardi, etc.) to track apartment availability, record leasing activities, manage resident/prospect data, and capture demographic information.
  • Ensure the community and show units meet company standards for show quality by inspecting the marketing corridor, communicating maintenance needs, and merchandising amenities.
  • Follow up with prospects and new residents to ensure satisfaction through emails, thank-you notes, calls, or other contacts.
  • Execute lease renewal programs by preparing renewal letters, meeting with residents, and ensuring timely signing of renewal documents.
  • Respond quickly and courteously to resident and client concerns, taking prompt action to resolve problems or document requests.

Requirements

  • Required licenses and certifications as mandated by state and local jurisdictions.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods; bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and crawl in confined areas.
  • Work inside and outside in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, sleet).
  • Push, pull, lift, or carry up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Occasional travel may be required to assist other properties, attend training, or business meetings.
  • Flexible work schedule, including taking "call" during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

The hourly range for this role is $22.00 - $25.25. Many factors determine pay within this range, including business requirements, prior experience, current skills, and geographical location.

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday: Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
