About the Role
Perform functions to manage, direct, and provide leadership on behalf of the Board of Directors and FirstService Residential to the Association. Oversee all front-of-house operation areas related to resident and guest experience, hospitality, food & beverage operations, community events, and service recovery. Ensure the property is maintained and operated in accordance with company objectives, facilitating solutions to problems between the community and internal support staff while adhering to established policies. Work in concert with the CAM Building Manager on project coordination, maintenance, and repair items that impact resident quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Organize all resident activities, on and off premises, including dances, theme parties, holiday celebrations, movies, card games, and exercise programs.
- Conduct assessments to determine resident interests and supervise the development of new and existing clubs reflecting those interests.
- Document resident participation in social and recreational programs.
- Manage all areas of special events, games, and entertainment, encouraging participation.
- Supervise catering (food and beverage) for functions, including decorating and promotions.
- Oversee operational and technical requirements for clubhouse activities, such as lighting and sound.
- Coordinate meetings, room usage, and schedule shows, holiday parties, and special events.
- Maintain a calendar of activities for the community.
- Develop and distribute the property’s monthly newsletters, including advertisement layouts and sales.
- Post meeting notices on electronic message boards and bulletin boards, and display event posters.
- Recommend and review policies for association, community, and league use of facilities.
- Arrange athletic events and manage game logistics.
- Oversee the activity budget to ensure costs remain within guidelines.
- Plan special "theme" days or months around holidays, seasons, or recognized days (e.g., Father’s or Mother’s Day).
- Solicit and secure sponsorships and funding from local businesses and organizations.
- Assist other departments as directed by the Community Association Manager (e.g., daily incoming phone call support).
- Directly or indirectly supervise associates, including administrative, front desk, concierge, amenities, valet, receiving, and security staff.
Requirements
- Associate degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1+ year of related work experience as an Activities Coordinator or in Event Planning.
- Strong entertainment planning background.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, mass email, database management).
- Ability to work with vendors and crews to organize events in a timely manner.
- Strong administrative background.
- Excellent working knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Outstanding interpersonal, office management, and communication skills.
- Self-starter and multi-tasker with critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently, identify, plan, and prioritize business opportunities.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, sit, walk, carry, and occasionally climb.
- Ability to work extended/flexible hours and weekends.
Schedule
Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Pay
$70,000 annually.
