Lease Staff Accountant

What you will do
- Record monthly rent expense and relief of ROU asset and liability accounts in accordance with ASC 842
- Enter monthly activity to Deltek Vantagepoint for payment of rent and building expenses for DLR Group offices
- Verify annual reconciliation of operating costs received from lessor
- Maintain and initiate new lease activity in lease accounting software
- Be a resource for internal and external stakeholders as questions arise related to leases
- Partner with the Firm’s real estate and insurance brokers, along with internal leadership, on the details of new and terminating leases
- Apply understanding and give guidance related to the role of deposits, rent abatement and other lease transactions
- Participate as part of a team for daily deposit management for assigned accounts
- Record and research deposits by Project Accountants
- Aid in completing general account reconciliations as needed
- Aid the Accounting Manager and Controller with general ledger input and schedules as needed.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a role with multiple property leases and recording entries consistent with the requirements of ASC 842
- 5 -10 years of relevant accounting experience (AEC industry preferred)
- Ability to work cross-functionally within various operating systems.

Schedule
We follow a four-day in-office work model, with employees having the flexibility to work somewhere other than the office on Fridays.
