Main Functions
- Safely operate and monitor oil, gas, and water production facilities.
- Serve as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities during night shifts.
- Maintain accurate production records, gauge sheets, and operational logs.
- Support startup, commissioning, and optimization of new facilities.
- Perform routine inspections and adjust operating parameters to maintain production targets.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance activities through Safe Work Permits and gas testing.
- Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities.
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance and visual inspections to identify potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Monitor and optimize separators, tanks, meters, chemical injection systems, and utilities.
- Read and interpret process data, trends, and computer-generated schematics.
- Perform tank gauging, meter readings, product sampling, and leak detection.
- Troubleshoot surface equipment and resolve operational issues with minimal supervision.
- Adjust process variables including pressure, temperature, flow, and levels.
- Inspect safety equipment, including SCBAs, fire extinguishers, and gas detection systems.
- Perform gas testing and issue Safe Work Permits.
- Conduct winterization and summerization activities.
- Communicate operational changes and concerns to Production Foremen and incoming shifts.
- Maintain company vehicles and field equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and environmental stewardship efforts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous oil and gas production operations experience.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting oil, gas, and water separation facilities.
- Ability to work a 7/7 rotating night schedule.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to callouts.
- Experience using SCADA and electronic monitoring systems.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic production reporting systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and alarm management capabilities.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to wear and use SCBA and other required safety equipment.
- New facility startup and commissioning experience.
- Strong knowledge of process flow, production chemistry, and facility lineups.
- Experience issuing Safe Work Permits and conducting gas testing.
- Familiarity with production optimization through data trending and SCADA analysis.
- Experience coordinating oil sales and saltwater hauling.
- Previous experience in independent night-shift operations.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
- Proficiency using SCADA for alarm management and data trending.
- Experience with surface equipment maintenance and production optimization.
- Ability to make sound operational decisions with limited supervision.
- Strong safety culture and understanding of permit-to-work processes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills during shift handovers.
