Our work depends on an Instructional Developer joining our team to support U.S. Navy training at SCSTC ATRC, Dahlgren, VA.

About the role

Designs and develops instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meet training requirements. Supports U.S. Navy training initiatives by facilitating Subject Matter Expert (SME) workshops, conducting training analysis, and ensuring technical accuracy of instructional content.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meet training requirements.
• Assist in facilitating Subject Matter Expert (SME) workshops to identify and validate job duties, tasks, and essential task attributes for developing learning objectives and curriculum.
• Assist with developing Training Situation Analysis, Training Systems Analysis, and Front-End Analysis to maintain a life-cycle process comparing JDTA data to existing Course Training Task Lists (CTTL) and learning objectives, identifying training gaps or deficiencies.
• Provide feedback and track item completion, conduct training analysis, and review course safety plans.
• Interact with customers and SMEs to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• Three (3) years of experience developing group-paced instructional materials for Surface Combat Systems in accordance with Navy curriculum development standards and guidelines.
• Two (2) of the three (3) years’ experience in Navy curriculum development software such as Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) I, AIM II, Content Planning Module (CPM)/Learning Object Module (LOM).
• Experience advising SMEs on development procedures, formatting, and evaluating curricula documents and instructional delivery procedures.
• Active Secret security clearance (must currently possess).
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $64,230 - $74,750. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
