Learning Specialist/Tutoring Coordinator
About the role
This position serves as Learning Specialist/Tutor Coordinator reporting to the Director of Enrichment Services. Work in conjunction with academic advisors to assist student-athletes with various needs as they relate to academics. The primary purpose is to advise and assist a specific segment of students in need of additional support services, including at-risk, under-prepared, or learning-disabled individuals. Advise on course selection and assist with academic preparation based on each individual student-athlete’s strengths and needs. Assist with student-athlete recruiting events and orientation.
This position is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling all tutors and academic coaches (part-time and graduate student positions) for all other aspects of tutoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field and 2 or more years of job-related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job-related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree plus one year of experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience, or
- Equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Collegiate experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with student-athletes is highly desirable.
