About the Role

Serves as Learning Specialist/Tutor Coordinator reporting to the Director of Enrichment Services. Works in conjunction with academic advisors to assist student-athletes with various needs as they relate to academics. The primary purpose is to advise and assist a specific segment of students in need of additional support services, including at-risk, underprepared, or learning-disabled individuals. Advises on course selection and assists with academic preparation based on each individual student-athlete's strengths and needs. Assists with student-athlete recruiting events and orientation.

This position is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling all tutors and academic coaches (part-time and graduate student positions) for all aspects of tutoring.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist student-athletes with academic support services, including at-risk, underprepared, or learning-disabled individuals.
  • Advise on course selection and academic preparation tailored to individual student-athlete needs.
  • Assist with student-athlete recruiting events and orientation.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and schedule tutors and academic coaches (part-time and graduate student positions).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree plus one year of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Collegiate experience is strongly preferred; experience with student-athletes is highly desirable.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks and handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
