Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, special education, rehabilitation, social work, disability services, or a related field required.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience working with students with learning disabilities at the post-secondary level, preferably in a teaching capacity
- Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other federal laws pertaining to disability in higher education
- Experience interpreting disability-related documentation and psychoeducational evaluations
- Proven ability to teach reading and writing skills and experience in developing alternative learning strategies
- Experience working with students with physical and psychological disabilities, as well as those on the autism spectrum, preferred
- Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, with demonstrated competence in working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong computer technical abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft and Google products, assistive technologies, data management systems, and software used for student support services
- Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of experience working with students with learning disabilities at the post-secondary level.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its application in educational settings.
- Previous experience in a higher education setting providing academic support services.
- Familiarity with Navigate, Accommodate, or similar student management systems.
