Learning Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover · Springfield, MA · 1 wk ago
Education$100k/yrFull-time

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating hour-long life skill workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback exchange, adjusting your delivery and engagement style for Pre-K through 8th grade age ranges
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions to examine student progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive students toward completing 100% of weekly benchmarks
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than mere attendance
  • Providing focused interventions when students lag academically or in engagement levels—diagnosing underlying issues and creating targeted recovery strategies
  • Cultivating authentic connections with each student so they develop sufficient trust to receive your coaching through moments of resistance, distraction, and uncertainty

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Conducting lectures or providing conventional academic instruction (core academic content is delivered through adaptive applications, not by you)
  • Developing lesson plans or creating curriculum independently (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is to execute them with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
  • Handling parent communication or administrative functions (Campus Leads manage these areas; your attention remains on students)
  • Handling homework assignments or preparing students for standardized testing (these elements are absent from Alpha's model)
  • Operating independently without collaboration (you work within a campus team alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)

About the Role

Guarantee that every student in your assigned cohort develops a love for school, achieves mastery in critical life skills, and completes 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with Pre-K through 8th grade students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities).
  • Demonstrated ability motivating or coaching Pre-K through 8th grade students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the objective, your specific actions, and the resulting outcome).
  • Receptiveness to a coaching-exclusive model where all core academic instruction is delivered by the learning platform. Your function is motivation and guidance, not subject matter instruction.
  • Regular, daily utilization of generative AI platforms (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
  • Availability to work on-site at Alpha's Springfield, MA location (relocation assistance provided).
  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, camp program leadership, or after-school initiatives where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined objectives.
  • History of significant personal accomplishment (academic distinctions, competitive sports achievement, or leadership positions requiring sustained high performance).
  • Innate storytelling capability: you can command Pre-K through 8th grade students' attention for an hour without volume escalation.
  • Prior experience supporting students who receive special education services.
