Crossover · Springfield, MA · Yesterday
Education$100k/yrFull-time
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback literacy, adjusting your delivery style and energy for Pre-K through 8th grade developmental ranges
- Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions to review adaptive learning app progress (analyzed through Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive students toward 100% completion of weekly benchmarks
- Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine life skill mastery rather than simple participation
- Implementing focused interventions when students experience academic lag or disengagement—diagnosing underlying issues and creating structured recovery strategies
- Cultivating authentic connections with individual students that establish the trust necessary for them to receive coaching through resistance, distraction, and moments of low confidence
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Teaching traditional academic content or delivering lectures (core subject learning occurs through adaptive platforms, independent of your instruction)
- Creating original lesson plans or curriculum materials (Alpha supplies life skills playbooks; your responsibility is execution with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
- Handling parent communication or administrative duties (Campus Leads manage these functions; your attention remains on student development)
- Handling homework assignments or preparing students for standardized tests (these elements do not exist in Alpha's model)
- Operating independently without support (you collaborate within a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)
About the Role
Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in approximately two hours using adaptive technology. No classroom lectures. No traditional textbooks. Your role addresses what technology cannot: developing life skills in Pre-K through 8th grade students—public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- 3+ years of direct experience working with Pre-K through 8th grade students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program management roles)
- Demonstrated history of motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the objective, your specific actions, and measurable results)
- Comfort with a coaching-exclusive framework where all core academic instruction is delivered by the learning platform. Your function is motivation and guidance, not subject-matter teaching
- Daily operational use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude)
- Availability to work on-site at Alpha's Springfield, MA location (relocation assistance provided)
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Background in youth sports coaching, camp leadership, or after-school programming where you held direct accountability for motivating children toward defined objectives
