Learning Assistant II - LNC
About the role
Provides one on one or small group tutoring to currently enrolled students in a particular discipline. Assesses academic ability of students being tutored using provided measurement instruments. Meets with supervisory staff on a regular scheduled basis to discuss academic progress of students being tutored. Assists supervisor with academic needs assessment. Documents student progress for each session using provided instruments. Implements an academic action plan for each session using provided instruments. Participate in staff development training. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic assistance, mentoring and learning-centered tutoring to currently enrolled students based upon appropriate assessment of student needs.
- Assess academic ability of students using provided measurement instruments.

Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Evidence of successful completion of college level academic work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisor and other faculty.
- Ability to work a variety of hours, which includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to use computer hardware and software programs related to discipline area.
- Ability to tutor individuals or small groups of students in advanced coursework.
- Ability to use appropriate learning techniques/strategies to achieve specific learning outcomes.
Work Schedule
Up to 25 hours per week during business hours: Monday–Thursday 9 am–7 pm & Friday 9 am–3 pm. Hours subject to change based on business needs.

$16.25 per hour
