Educational Assistant II

About the role

The Cumberland Valley School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA) II to join the Life Skills program. The position offers 7.5 work hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Support educational strategies, support services and student development aligned with unique needs, backgrounds and learning styles of students.
• Foster a supportive and effective learning environment.
• Provide instructional support, manage classroom/building activities and assist with educational program implementation.
• Work closely with classroom teachers and other district employees.
• Interact with students and staff.

Requirements

• Direct experience within a life skills classroom.
• High school diploma.
• A two-year Associates Degree or higher (or the ability to pass a highly-qualified assessment).
• Pass a Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, TB Test/Mantoux, and Physical (if applicable) within the last year.
• Take 20 hours of annual training to maintain Highly Qualified Status.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, stretch, lift up to 50 pounds, and have corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges.

Qualifications

• Sensitivity to students from various cultural backgrounds.
• Patience with students learning a second language.
• Fluency in English.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.

Benefits

• Compensation at a starting wage of $20.10/hr for the 2026-2027 school year.

• $20.10/hr
