Learn to Skate Instructor | Part-Time | Centene Community Ice Center

Position Summary

Centene Community Ice Center is seeking Learn To Skate Instructors. The role involves teaching skating classes from beginners to advanced levels according to the Learn to Skate USA (LTS-USA) curriculum. Responsibilities include creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment, encouraging consistent practice, and promoting the program to new skaters.

Responsibilities

• Teach skating classes from beginners to advanced levels following the LTS-USA curriculum.
• Encourage students to practice skills learned outside of class.
• Lift small children who cannot stand up on their own.
• Promote the program and specialty classes to potential new skaters.
• Work with other coaches and coordinators to improve classes and programs.
• Assist with off-ice activities such as skate tying and education.
• Accurately evaluate students at the end of the session, completing report cards and certificates.
• Attend coaches' meetings and/or trainings.
• Enforce on- and off-ice rules.

Qualifications

• Have or obtain a Learn to Skate USA professional membership.
• Have or obtain a SafeSport certification.
• Have 2-3+ years of figure skating experience, ISI Freestyle 4, or USFS Juvenile Free Skate.
• Previous coaching experience is a plus, but not required.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn.
• Great at working in a team environment.
• ISI membership and synchro experience are a plus, but not required.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00-$25.00.
