Description

Led by Theatre Ensemble Play, this annual event entertains audiences for three days. The Technical Director coordinates with the director on set design, properties, and costumes before ordering and purchasing items. They research and submit quotes for production supplies and services as needed. A budget meeting is held with the Activities Director prior to the pre-production meeting and before offering a monetary amount for specialist services. The Technical Director oversees and coordinates these specialists, orders supplies, and submits Purchase Orders to the Activities Director. They manage all production paperwork and specific needs, develop and distribute a technical schedule, design and build the set, design and program lighting cues, design and coordinate sound and music needs, and design and coordinate video needs. They supervise the technical crew during construction and rehearsals, and oversee actors during and after performances. After each meeting, workday, and performance, they clean up the facility and secure it.

The Technical Director also manages costumes and properties in the loft, submits receipts for processing after verifying delivery, and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
