Technical Theatre Director

Barton Community College is seeking applications for a creative and enthusiastic Technical Theatre Director to join our growing Fine & Performing Arts Department.

About the role

This position will manage technical and back-of-house operations for the Barton Fine Arts Auditorium, including technical direction of mainstage productions as well as other college and community events. The role facilitates set construction, lighting, and audio design while ensuring all safety procedures and protocols are followed during the event production process.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and back-of-house operations for the Barton Fine Arts Auditorium
• Provide technical direction for mainstage productions and other college/community events
• Oversee set construction, lighting, and audio design
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and protocols during event production
• Coordinate with Barton’s Theatre, Dance, and Music departments, as well as other college and community partners

Requirements

• Six months to two years of similar experience
• Two-year degree or completion of specialized courses in technical theatre and/or event management
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Schedule

Full-time position with non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
