About the Role
Direct the annual Leaders in Theatre Ensemble Play, which entertains audiences over three days.
Responsibilities
- Submit a copy of the script to the activities director for approval before scheduling meetings and purchasing production rights.
- Hold a production personnel/budget meeting with the activities director prior to the pre-production meeting and before verbally offering monetary amounts to service providers.
- Coordinate with the technical director on set design, properties, and costumes before any purchases are made.
- Secure service providers, process them through the activities director, notify them of pre-production and post-production meetings, and provide scripts.
- Manage all production paperwork and production-specific needs.
- Design and order posters and programs/playbills.
- Hold auditions, post the cast list, have students accept/decline roles, make casting adjustments, post the final cast list, and hold a cast production meeting.
- Develop, distribute, and post a rehearsal schedule to the cast and the activities director.
- Supervise actors during and after rehearsals/performances.
- Clean up the facility after each meeting, rehearsal, and performance.
- Secure the facilities after each meeting, rehearsal, and performance to prevent student access.
- Store all costumes and properties in the loft after the production closes.
- Secure service providers for the post-production meeting (timesheets and itemized receipts).
- Submit a cast list/program to the Thespian sponsor to verify hours for cast and crew.
Qualifications
- Professional Educator License (PEL) as required by the State of Illinois.
