Lead Youth STEM Tudor/Teacher

Code Ninjas Wildwood is a local family-owned business that teaches kids ages 5-14 to explore the world of code in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment where gaming is celebrated and STEM is cool. Our robust, game-based curriculum keeps Ninjas engaged, challenged, and learning through programs like CREATE and CREATE JR, Summer Camps, and events using platforms such as Microsoft Make Code, Scratch JR, Code Spark, Spike Lego Robotics, 3D Printing, Minecraft, and Roblox.

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Code Sensei to oversee day-to-day coaching and student engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Teach computer programming concepts to students using the Code Ninjas curriculum.
• Guide students through coding projects and challenges, offering support and encouragement.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.
• Assist students in troubleshooting technical issues and debugging code.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians as needed.
• Collaborate with other instructors to develop and refine curriculum materials.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in technology and education.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mentorship role.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching and learning.
• Availability to consistently work the required schedule.
• Ability to commute to and from Code Ninjas Wildwood (Wildwood or Kirkwood locations).
• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• Experience in education or childcare preferred but not required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification preferred but not required.

Pay

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Part-time: 12 - 20 hours per week.
• Student Hours (year-round):
  • Monday - Thursday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Camps (no school days/seasonal breaks):
  • Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
