Lead Worker, Production

About the role

Facilitate the performance of major production functions in an assigned department at our Durham, NC location. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4 PM.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with manager and co-workers as directed by the Department Supervisor.
• Perform and train others on all assembly tasks in the assigned department.
• Assist in meeting production goals while adhering to work instructions and company policies.
• Cover any necessary areas during employee absences.
• Work with the Supervisor to ensure quality product is produced efficiently.
• Act as supervisor in their absence (excluding disciplinary actions and time approval).
• Stand and walk for the entire shift; perform all jobs in the assigned area.
• Bend from the waist to retrieve raw materials from pallets at ground level.
• Lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Carry product overhead as necessary.
• Communicate standard methods for completing all area tasks.
• Gather and report production numbers and other data for system entry.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic reading and math skills.
• Ability to collect and electronically enter production numbers.
• Direct supervision consists of periodic checks by the Department Supervisor during each shift.
