Lead Water / Wastewater Engineer-SW Region

About the role

WSP Water has a career opportunity for a Lead Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our full-service Design Center team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer to expand project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems.
• Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water and sewer systems.
• Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms.
• Check design computations and quantity estimates.
• Afford assistance in client contact and communications pertaining to specific projects.
• Occasional field work and travel to project sites may be required.

Requirements

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree.
• MS is a plus.
• PE required; AZ PE preferred.
• 10 years + of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated engineering experience in small or large sized, multi-disciplined water/wastewater projects, including responsibility for client interactions.
• Proficiency in detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems.
• Successful engineering project delivery with respect to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
• Senior Engineer positioned to add project management to their responsibilities. Project management experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously.
• Excellent, clear and concise, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations & prepare written reports.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work.
• Ability and willingness to travel for client meetings, or project field sites. Approximately 5% overnight travel.

• Pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy.

Benefits

Compensation Expected Salary (Colorado only): $111,200 - $198,220. WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
