What Our Lead Veterinary Technicians Do
Lead by example while providing exceptional patient nursing and technical care
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dentistry, and advanced procedures
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients
Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiography, laboratory diagnostics, and sample collection
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure high clinical standards
Mentor, coach, and support veterinary technicians and assistants
Assist with onboarding and training new team members
Provide constructive feedback while helping teammates build confidence and technical skills
Partner with doctors and hospital leadership to improve workflow and hospital operations
Support OSHA compliance, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and hospital protocols
Help foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative hospital culture
What Our Lead Veterinary Technicians Bring
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred, or eligibility to meet state requirements
- Three to five years of progressive veterinary technician experience
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong surgical, anesthesia, patient nursing, and technical skills
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience helping develop team members and improve workflows
- Confidence making decisions while maintaining a collaborative leadership style
- Experience with Avimark is a plus
- Passion for developing others while delivering exceptional patient care
