Lead Veterinary Technician

About the role

Our hospital is seeking a Full-Time Lead Veterinary Technician to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital. The Veterinary Technician is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. Applicants with veterinary experience who are not credentialed veterinary technicians are encouraged to apply; they will be considered for roles such as Lead Senior Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Assistant, or other appropriate positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies
• Sterilize tools and ensure equipment is in working order
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration and monitoring
• Conduct dental prophylaxis
• Take radiographs
• Administer medications
• Perform laboratory analysis
• Provide client education
• Communicate with pet owners and update patient files
