Garden Oaks Veterinary Center is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. Working from our modern 5,500-square-foot hospital, you'll have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine while helping lead and support a talented team of veterinary professionals. The Lead Veterinary Technician will play an important role in day-to-day technician operations, team development, patient care, and clinical efficiency. Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical leader and resource for the veterinary technician team
- Mentor, train, and support technicians and veterinary assistants
- Help ensure consistent patient care and adherence to hospital protocols
- Partner closely with veterinarians and the Practice Manager to support daily hospital operations
- Assist with exams, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and provide attentive patient recovery care
- Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Take high-quality digital radiographs
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
