Join a team committed to supporting the whole family in their parenting journey at Rutland County Parent Child Center in Rutland, Vermont. We are dedicated to helping young children develop and grow in a safe, nurturing environment, recognizing individual strengths, creating trusting relationships, and partnering with families and communities to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child. RCPCC uses a 2-Gen approach, working with both families and children simultaneously to identify needs and align programming to deliver services for long-term impacts.

As a toddler lead teacher at our 2Gen Campus on Chaplin Ave, you will work directly with young children, ages birth through age 3. Lead Teachers plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet objectives through hands-on, play-based activities. Classroom environments are created to engage children using philosophies ranging from Montessori to Reggio Emilia.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with families.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transitions.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Must qualify as at least a Teacher Associate per VT Childcare Regulations, which includes a year of experience in a center-based setting AND at least 21 college credits in early education.
• Degrees are preferred but not required; those with a minimum of 12 credits are welcome to apply with a plan for continued education.
• Must be caring and compassionate, with strong communication skills for both adults and children, extraordinary patience, and a passion to serve families and the community.
