Essential Responsibilities
- Accessible to testing personnel to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Department Medical Technical Directors.
- Provide day-to-day supervision of high complexity test performance by testing personnel.
- Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
- Ensure remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
- Evaluate and document the performance of all individuals responsible for moderate complexity testing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Medical Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or equivalent training, education, and experience in the military.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory required.
- Licenses and Certifications: ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized MT or MLS ASCP or equivalent categorical certification required.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of general laboratory equipment and basic computer skills.
