About the role

The Lead Medical Technologist (Blood Bank/Hematology) provides supervision of other professional and non-professional staff in the Laboratory under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff delivers excellent patient care, customer service, and efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory.
  • Provides direction to personnel of the clinical laboratory in the absence of the Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum work experience: 3 - 5 years in clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

  • ASCP or equivalent certification.

Skills

  • Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Limited Microbiology, point-of-care, Phlebotomy, and administrative skills.
