Lead Technologist, Clinical Lab Technologist 2, Chemistry & Immunology
SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University’s Department of Clinical Laboratories is hiring a full-time Lead Technologist for the Chemistry & Immunology section.
About the role
You will perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, train personnel in technical methodologies and result interpretation, maintain laboratory inventory and statistics, assign staff to ensure smooth workflow, and assist in coordinating administrative operations. Duties may extend beyond those listed.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories
- Adhere to departmental, hospital, and government regulations
- Train personnel in technical methodologies and interpretation of results
- Maintain laboratory inventory and statistics
- Assign appropriate staff to assure a smooth workflow
- Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratory
- Demonstrate flexibility in additional duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCP certification
