Lead Technician Material Handling Equipment

About the role

Lead Technician for Material Handling Equipment, reporting to the Regional Service Supervisor. In their absence, you will oversee the team and ensure all NFI capital and material-handling equipment in our Distribution Centers is repaired and maintained to company and customer standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage workflow and productivity of on-site technicians.
• Ensure the fleet meets company and customer operational standards.
• Coordinate vendor support for major equipment repairs.
• Request purchase orders for vendor payments and parts ordering.
• Maintain and review parts inventory.
• Oversee shipping and receiving of product.
• Perform hands-on repairs of material handling equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Must provide your own hand tools.
• At least 3–5 years of similar management experience.
• At least 2–4 years of mechanics experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office computer applications.
• Post-high-school or technical-school education is desirable but not required.
• Strong supervisory skills and excellent oral and written communication.
• Must be able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction.
• Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in environments with excessive noise and respiratory hazards without restriction.
• Must be able to stand or lie for extended periods to repair equipment.
• Must have flexible movement to reach equipment and/or parts and maneuver equipment.
