What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of exterior service technicians
  • Facilitate required on-the-job training on processes, equipment usage, and asset safety practices to ensure an injury-free working environment
  • Utilize technology (phones, tablets, laptops) for work order management and record-keeping
  • Perform landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, weed management, and other landscaping tasks with or without specialized equipment
  • Apply knowledge of planting, pruning techniques, and pest/disease management through chemical applications
  • Perform commercial exterior maintenance including irrigation, pressure washing, and exterior building/grounds maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and prioritize work with strong customer service orientation
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics, integrity, and safety

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the commercial landscaping/exterior building maintenance and leading teams
  • Proven leadership skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state-issued driver's license held for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC) card
  • Active EPA 608 certification
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language
  • 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
  • Option 1: 1 year's experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • Option 2: 2 years' Walmart store experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in horticulture or related area
  • Certified nursery and/or landscape professional
  • Experience as landscaping/gardening crew leader or supervisor
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc)

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
