Lead Technician
Position Overview
Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a Technician Lead - Electrical to join their team. They design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical testing laboratory, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct hands-on testing of battery cells, modules, packs, and systems, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
- Support the development and execution of test plans for electrical and avionics systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems and components at the benchtop level.
- Aid in the preparation and maintenance of high-quality engineering documentation related to testing procedures and results.
- Cook up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of components and materials for testing.
- Participate in the development of test setups, including Processor-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations.
- Support aircraft ground and flight test campaigns, providing technical expertise and assistance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with military and commercial standards during testing and validation processes when needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, or Green Card holder).
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrical technician, with a strong background in battery cell and system testing and Hardware in the loop simulation.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on-site weekly at our Manassas, VA site.
- Ability to lift 10 kg.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
- Minimum Range: $49,000.00 to $88,000.00
- Maximum Range: $56,000.00 to $100,000.00
