Responsibilities

  • Tightly partners with the Product Manager of the pod to enable successful product delivery.
  • Owns technical delivery and quality.
  • Anchors the technical integrity of the product, guiding engineering decisions and feasibility.
  • Determines HOW the product will be built efficiently, securely, and scalably.
  • Leads architectural decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.
  • Architectural decisions are based on standards and guidance provided by Data Solutions Architect(s).
  • Supports technical team growth, removes technical blockers, and ensures engineering velocity.
  • Includes but is not limited to day-to-day technical execution with team/pod.
  • Supports the technical team in breaking down work and translating high-level requirements into technical tasks and stories.
  • Affirms complexity and effort.
  • Collaborates with engineers and technical resources from other teams.
  • Includes entire vendor domain: back-end infrastructure, MDM, data pipelines, etc., Service Now internal/external requirements, Dev-Ops requirements, cross-functional requirements (S4/Adams/SSO, etc.).
  • Oversees spike work.
  • Oversees proper technical documentation in Confluence.
  • Defines and enforces technical standards, best practices, and arch guidelines.
  • Partners with the Data Solutions Architect(s) to design and define Vendor Enterprise Architecture.
  • Closes partnership with Dev-Ops to ensure work is scoped and meets requirements.
  • Picks up work/stories/tasks (50% of time hands-on-keyboard).
  • Manages scalability, security, and performance - technical roadmap.
  • Mitigates technical debt.
  • Identifies and mitigates technical risks or bottlenecks in development.
  • Triages and troubleshoots critical issues and guides resolution.
  • Performs code reviews, UAT testing plans, and ensures robust testing.
  • Drives continuous integration best practices.
  • Supports team growth and supports.
  • Identifies and surfaces gaps in resources (expertise and quantity).

Qualifications

  • Strong background in ServiceNow implementation and customization.
  • Experience in developing and configuring workflows, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and scheduled jobs.
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing forms and request fulfillment workflows.
  • Experience in developing custom portals and UI/UX components.
  • Proficiency in integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications.
  • Experience in creating custom integrations and working with cross-functional technical stakeholders on integration requirements.
  • Experience in Identity Access Management (IAM)/RBAC Management.
  • Experience in testing and deployment.
  • Experience in maintenance, including security configurations and user administration.
  • Experience in platform upgrades and other instance management.
  • Experience in monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
