Transdev in Optima, OK is seeking an experienced Lead Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain pickup trucks, Class 8 trucks, and trailers. This role involves leading a team of technicians to ensure vehicle safety, efficiency, and longevity for our customers.
About the role
As a Lead Technician, you will perform repairs with moderate supervision, guide and train other technicians, and ensure adherence to Transdev’s standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform limited repairs and advanced maintenance, including replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, fluid level checks, fluid and filter changes, and component lubrication.
- Conduct mechanical repairs under moderate supervision, such as brake repairs, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, internal engine components, and other repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work, including parts and supplies used, and ensure accurate completion of work orders.
- Order repair parts from designated suppliers and maintain parts usage records.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety maintenance inspections, and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals.
- Remove, replace, and repair engine, transmission, and differential assemblies.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair accurately.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required; evaluate the work of others before release.
- Lead and train other technicians in your work group.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies, and procedures.
- Safely move vehicles between job and work areas.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Clean vehicles as requested or required.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class A CDL with air brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license (if required).
- ASE Certification (preferred).
- Extensive mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred), or equivalent education and experience.
- Adherence to state DOT standards for motor vehicle inspections and safety.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties, maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects occasionally; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

Pay
Competitive compensation package of $30.00 – $40.00 per hour, plus a $1,500 sign-on bonus.
