Shift availability: Days and Evenings • Full time

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner; greet and thank customers; assist and make recommendations; ring sales accurately on cash register and handle all payment types.
• Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money-order machine, telecom transactions, and other equipment.
• Maintain store facility and equipment to company standards by performing general housekeeping duties inside and outside the store, inspecting for safety and cleanliness, and contacting maintenance for repairs.
• Complete build-to orders for merchandise, receive and verify vendor deliveries, maintain adequate stock, rotate stock, and place advertising and pricing signage.
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
• Monitor shift sales, cash handling procedures, and daily close-out functions; notify Store Manager of any discrepancies; follow company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Supervise customer service representatives in the absence of the Store Assistant Manager; coach and train new employees; adjust staffing based on customer traffic and operational needs.
• Manage the fast-food service area; know and apply the gasoline pricing strategy.
• Report incidents such as injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation; report unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Perform shift-change duties including counting cash drawers, recording employee purchases, completing reports, and ensuring accurate timekeeping records.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment; attend job-related meetings; provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
• Complete daily store reports and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes (walk-in cooler/freezer and outdoors).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift; requires eye-hand coordination.
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Reach overhead, bend, twist at waist, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb a ladder.
• Communicate orally and operate a cash register/computer keyboard.
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Work alone and be exposed to occasional noise.

Work Environment

• Perform approximately 95% of work indoors; occasional outdoor tasks include cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and taking out garbage.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk-in cooler/freezer.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

$15.50 to $16.00 per hour
