About the role
Assistant Teachers work alongside a lead teacher as part of the teaching team to foster a positive learning environment for all children. This role is ideal for those starting a career in education—no prior teaching experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Support each child’s social and emotional development
- Build positive and effective relationships with families
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and entire faculty
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty
- Works productively with or without supervision
- Demonstrates empathy and compassion for young children
- Dependable, adaptable, and enjoys working toward a common goal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening and follow-up abilities
- Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multitasking
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. for child handling, safety, and emergency situations (for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib)
- Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Annapolis, MD 21401 before starting work

Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- 4-hour, 8-hour, or 10-hour shifts
