Lead Teacher

About the role

The Goddard School is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position involves implementing age-appropriate lessons, leading hands-on activities, observing and assessing development, fostering a nurturing classroom community, guiding daily routines, encouraging positive behavior, maintaining a clean classroom, supervising play, participating in training, and staying current with best practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement age-appropriate lessons using the Wonder of Learning curriculum
• Lead hands-on activities that spark curiosity
• Observe and assess development using COR Advantage
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom community
• Guide daily routines and transitions
• Encourage positive behavior with empathy and support
• Maintain friendly, open communication with families
• Provide updates and participate in parent conferences
• Encourage family involvement in school activities
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom
• Follow all health and safety guidelines
• Supervise indoor and outdoor play attentively
• Participate in training and professional development

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Associate, Bachelor’s in ECE, or CDA preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Completion of state-required pre-service training
• Abuse Prevention and CPR certification
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for child safety
